Increase your value as a PADI DSD Leader

The PADI DSD Leader is available from the PADI Divemaster. This is an extension for PADI Divemaster which allows you to conduct the full PADI Discover Scuba Diving program in confined water. From the registration to the dive itself.

First teaching level

There is no doubt, this is the first teaching rating. This level is difficult. Your task consist of converting non-divers to happy divers. How can you become PADI DSD Leader ? Conduct 4 full PADI Discover Scuba Diving programs with a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. PADI DSD Leader students must show their ability to conduct effective briefings, in-water supervision and debriefings with non-certified divers. You will be in charge :

• The registration of your participants : check paperworks, verify any medical issues




• Do the orientation and diving briefing of the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program




• Introduce some skills and the scuba unit to your participants in confined water




• Diving organisation




• Lead and guide the dive

Teaching experience

The PADI DSD Leader certification is not a prerequisite to become PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, but it will give you the necessary foundations to provide education adapted to each participant. Become a PADI DSD Leader is also a way to increase your employability as a PADI Divemaster.
