Follow a another IDC, not as a candidate, but as a PADI IDC Staff Instructor
This is the first level in the PADI organization that allow you to act during a PADI Instructor Development Course. You can teach and share your experience with future PADI Open Water Scuba instructors as a PADI IDC Staff Instructor.

This status is primarily for PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer who want to share and transfer their knowledges, their skills and experience for the IDC candidates. The role of the PADI IDC Staff Instructor is the same as the PADI Divemaster to PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. A PADI IDC Staff Instructor is PADI Course Director’s assistant. He can certify future PADI Assistant Instructors, and conduct academic presentations, confined and open water presentations, providing advices for IDC candidates.
Private relationship with the candidate
Often, the PADI IDC Staff Instructor has a special relationship with the IDC candidates. Like diving participants have a preference with the PADI Divemaster rather than the diving instructor. Candidates feel easier to go seek advice from PADI IDC Staff Instructor rather than PADI Course Director.
I have great pleasure to attend and participate PADI Instructor Development Course. It’s always funny to say that a few years ago I was in their shoes. Now I’m on the other side of the classroom. I see the difficulties that may face some IDC candidates and I can compare their difficulties with my daily life as an PADI instructor. Each PADI Instructor Development Courses allows me to update my knowledges continuously. PADI standards and procedures change regularly, it is important to understand these changes. I share my experience, but I also learn from the IDC candidates. This is an opportunity to see how the future diving instructors will teach . There are many good things to take. Nothing is fixed. You learn new things every day, and you have to deal with some surprising situations.

To become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, it is simple. Just be a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, enroll in PADI Instructor Development Course not as IDC candidate, but as an IDC Staff Team member.
