Increase your value, become a PADI Speciality Instructor
To become a PADI Speciality Instructor, you must hold a PADI speciality at the instructor level. There are several ways to obtain a PADI speciality, but the easiest and quickest way is to do the training with the same PADI Course Director after your Instructor Development Course.
Teaching PADI Specialities
As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, you can lead program like PADI Adventure in Diving, PADI Adventure Diver and PADI Advanced Open Water. But you can not conduct PADI specialities, unless you are qualified for. To become a PADI Speciality Instructor, you must be trained, and your course must be validated by a PADI Course Director.
Some restrictions
For some of them, you must first be a specialist diver before becoming a teacher for the same specialty. This is the case of Nitrox and cavern, or for specialties of PADI DSAT TecRec course. For other specialties, it is not required to be a specialist diver. As a diving instructor you just need to follow a short training to acquire the skills of the selected specialty.
Next step
The PADI Speciality Instructor is an intermediate step that will lead you to the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. The requirements are higher, but your reputation and your value will also increase.
